A speculative 3D motion design project inspired by the Salomon XT-6, exploring the intersection of performance, technology, and human augmentation. Through cinematic product visualization and world-building, the project reimagines the XT-6 within a futuristic retail experience where footwear becomes an extension of engineered movement. Designed as a campaign-style concept, the animation combines detailed product modelling with immersive environments to create striking visuals for digital and social platforms.
Creative Process
The project began with recreating the Salomon XT-6 as a high-fidelity 3D model, paying close attention to its technical construction, layered materials, Quicklace system, and rugged outsole. From there, the focus shifted beyond the product itself to building a narrative around its purpose. Rather than presenting the shoe in isolation, I explored themes of performance enhancement through prosthetic limbs, robotic handling systems, and automated retail displays. Every sequence was designed to reveal the product from a new perspective while maintaining a balance between technical precision and cinematic storytelling.
Visual Language
The visual language draws inspiration from industrial laboratories, advanced manufacturing, and futuristic retail environments. Warm, controlled lighting contrasts with dark architectural spaces, while polished metal, mechanical components, and suspended displays reinforce the idea of engineered performance. Dynamic camera movement, shallow depth of field, and close-up macro shots highlight the XT-6's intricate construction, while recurring motifs such as prosthetic legs and a vending machine installation position the shoe as both a technical tool and a premium design object. The result is a campaign that feels immersive, futuristic, and grounded in the culture of innovation surrounding modern performance footwear.
