Poles.a.part is my menswear ready-to-wear graduation collection, showcased at the 2018 Esmod graduation show. The collection earned the 'Best Menswear Pattern Drafting' award from Esmod Jakarta and was also a Top 10 finalist in the 2018 Lomba Perancang Mode Menswear competition.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which celebrates imperfections, and the philosophy of Wabi-sabi, this design embraces a compelling paradox. Gold, symbolizing value, is paired with imperfect, invaluable elements, creating a striking contrast. Rather than concealing flaws, this design highlights them as part of the object's history, transforming breakage into art. The oversized silhouette gives a modern twist to a classic style, with deconstruction elements echoing the 90s rock scene. Innovative pattern cutting, subtle colored prints, screen printing, and hand-beaded golden accents come together in perfect harmony.

The name Poles.a.part reflects the philosophy of opposites, recognizing that everything is made up of two contradictory yet equally essential forces. This mirrors human nature—while we are unique individuals with diverse ideologies, cultures, and beliefs, we are also inherently dependent on one another as social beings. The brand's core ambition is to embrace diversity, oddity, and the coexistence of differences.
