This project explores the intersection of digital spaces and reality through surrealism, using techniques like automatism and symbolism to delve into the subconscious. It addresses the climate emergency within a semi-interactive space, divided into three phases: "Some things are irreversible," "Fast Digital Fashion," and "The Afterlife." Each phase focuses on different eras and the impact of consumer culture, with rising water levels symbolizing real-world sea level rise. The project aims to provoke thought on sustainability in digital fashion and spark conversation, while serving as an artistic exploration for myself.

Welcome to the virtual world,
Where reality and dreams unfurl,
A surreal landscape, strange and new,
Where expectations may not come true.

Escape from the world outside,
Leave your worries far behind,
But do not forget the truth,
That the climate crisis is not aloof.

Embrace the unexpected,
As you explore and navigate,
This digital space, so vast,
But always remember the task at last.

To face the reality we must,
And do all that we can to adjust,
So let this journey be a start,
To open your mind and open your heart.

The Virtual Reality Experience

Embark on a journey through time with this virtual experience. In the first phase, you'll be transported to the era of modernity, where the gears of industry have begun to turn, and fast fashion emerges as a driving force of consumerism and financial growth - but at what cost to the environment? In the second phase, technology takes center stage, as fast fashion brands rush to capitalize on the digital fashion boom. But as they chase profits, the harsh realities of their impact on the planet - like rising sea levels - loom in the background. Finally, in the third phase, witness the ultimate outcome of unchecked consumption as the sea engulfs the land, and nature adapts by becoming the very garments we wear. Will we learn from our mistakes before it's too late?
